A big part of Capoeira is a community spirit that comes with it. Often you will find a very down to earth bunch of people that play the game. It seems a big part of Capoeira Culture is to enjoy music, dance, martial arts and life in general.
Capoeira in Brazil has had a huge impact on keeping kids out of trouble, and providing them with a disciplined environment in which they can grow. It gives many an alternate way of life when living in poverty stricken ghettos. The Masters in Brazil are to thank for this. We hope to continue their work in the UK and currently run workshops for local schools and Universities as much as possible.
A very important part of our culture is also welcoming and grading our students. This is called Batizado, which means baptism. This is nothing to do with religion, but our way of celebrating each student and his/her progress with 3 days of workshops with great Masters and a Saturday night party.
